Continuity & Retention

  • One measure of academic effectiveness and student engagement is Continuity, which is similar to Persistence; a measurement of the rate at which the student body continues to enroll in one or more courses that contribute toward the same academic goal from one session to the next.

  • Another measure of academic effectiveness and student engagement is Retention; a measurement of the rate at which the student body continues to enroll from one year to the next, calculated on a 16-week semester. While this measure is generally required by regulatory agencies, we have found that measuring retention on the same 8 week sessions which our courses are held is a more accurate metric for our university. On the Retention tab below you will find the more traditional measure, based on a 16-week semester.

Graduation

As it relates to students, LAPU conceives the promotion of faith, life, and learning as engaging students in learning (through curriculum design, instruction, and student support) that reflects the Christian worldview of LAPU and culminates in the realization of hope in our students. As a result of this process (through their interactions and study at LAPU), we hope to see our students graduate from our programs better equipped and better prepared to fulfill their life goals.
