Los Angeles Pacific University wins 2021 Omni Award for Instructional Media Design
Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) has been named a winner of a Gold Omni Award for excellence in instructional media design. The Omni Awards exist to recognize outstanding achievements in film/video, web and mobile media. This is LAPU’s first Gold medal in the Omni awards, and third overall medal in the Educational category.
“Our mission as an institution includes promoting student success by designing courses that are as engaging as they are instructional,” said George Hanshaw, Director of eLearning Operations. “These awards are a positive affirmation of the quality and creative energy that our eLearning team puts into their work. We’re very proud of the learning experiences they create.”
Studies have shown that the success and persistence of online students are improved when course content is creative and engaging. “Online education is far more than just teaching remotely,” says Dr. John Reynolds, President of L.A. Pacific. “It’s more than Zoom meetings and PDF’s. It involves producing and delivering rich, immersive content that captures and holds the learner’s attention, as well as educates. When combined with the passion and expertise of the faculty, the result is a very positive student experience.”
