Los Angeles Pacific University Launches Public Administration Master’s Degree
Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Master of Public Administration (MPA) program this fall.
“The MPA is an important addition to the university’s portfolio of graduate degree options for students looking to advance their careers and pursue in-demand disciplines,” said Dr. Craig Brewer, academic dean. “As with all LAPU programs, this degree has been designed by professionals who are subject matter experts in their fields. In the case of Public Administration, that includes executive-level professionals from law enforcement, the justice system, and government agencies.”
The program’s advisory board includes multiple Chiefs of Police, a Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney, senior faculty, and university administrators. “Great effort was put into designing a program that included a practical blend of theory AND real-world applications,” said Brewer. “We want graduates to be prepared to make an immediate impact using both the knowledge and skills they gain from the program.”
The MPA program prepares individuals for leadership opportunities in public governance, law enforcement, as well as non-governmental organizations including the nonprofit sector. Such positions require a broad knowledge of subjects ranging from finance and budgeting to leadership and ethical issues in public policy, and more.
