Los Angeles Pacific University Announces Support for Stranded Argosy Students

Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) announced today that it has approved a measure to make it easier for Argosy University students to transfer credits and complete their degrees.

The closure of Argosy University campuses across the country has left thousands of students scrambling for options. In the final days of campuses being open, hallways were packed with long lines of students waiting to retrieve official transcripts before exploring their transfer options. Students were left with varying levels of work to be completed – some were only one or two courses away from finishing a degree.

In an effort to accommodate former Argosy students inquiring to LAPU, the executive council has agreed to reduce the residency requirements (units that must be taken directly from LAPU) for Argosy students transferring into its Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs.

“We recognize that these students are trapped in a unique situation,” says Dr. Wayne Herman, Vice President of Academics at LAPU. “Given the special circumstances, it seemed fitting to offer a temporary solution to help these students continue making progress toward completing their degrees.” The university has consulted with accreditation authorities at the WASC Senior Colleges and Universities Commission who responded positively to the initiative by LAPU.

Former Argosy students are encouraged to inquire about transfer credits or apply by December 31, 2019 to take advantage of the new measure. Learn more about LAPU degree programs, or contact LAPU directly at contact@lapu.edu or (855) 276-8669.
