L.A. Pacific University is proud to announce that Dr. Blason Taon, Associate Director of Military and Veterans Support Services, was named a 2021 Champion of the Year in Higher Education for his service to military-connected students.

As G.I. Jobs explains, most student veterans who excel in their post-military education will tell you they’ve had a lot of help along the way. Administrators, faculty, staff, and fellow students make a huge difference in whether a student veteran thrives or simply survives in school.

G.I. Jobs created the Veteran Champions of the Year in Higher Education awards to recognize these key players in the success of student veterans.

At L.A. Pacific University, Blason promotes a climate that values veterans and fosters a culture of trust and connectedness across the university.  He is passionate about the well-being and success of veteran and military-connected students. Congratulations to Dr. Taon for this recognition of his efforts!
